The Andrews Labor Government is keeping the legacy of our veterans alive with a round of new grants to support and bolster the community.
Member for Bendigo West, Maree Edwards MP and Member for Bendigo East, Jacinta Allan MP today announced three local projects that are part of 84 projects right across the state that will share in $1.4 million as part of a range of grants to support veterans.
The projects cover a range of initiatives, such as preserving memorials, commemorating veterans through services and events and providing education or training programs so veterans can remain engaged with the community.
Projects for the Bendigo district include:
- $21,758 to Soldiers Memorial Institute Military Museum for the mapping of all 46 ANZAC ‘Digger’ memorials in Victoria
- $8,000 to repair the roof of Bendigo’s Legacy House
- $6,000 for the Legacy Club of Bendigo to provide heating assistance for Centrelink widows enrolled with Bendigo Legacy
