JOBS, JOBS, JOBS AND CONSTRUCTION BOOST FOR BENDIGO

TheAndrews Labor Government will support the next stage of Bendigo’s development,with a new GovHub office in the heart of the city’s CBD that will bring newjobs to Bendigo.

TheVictorian Budget 2018/19invests $16 million to secure the major jobs boost for Bendigo and builds onplanning funding included in last year's Budget.

TheGovHub will bring more than 1,000 public sector jobs in the CBD, including 100new jobs not currently based in Bendigo – boosting the number of people workingin the city centre.

Stafffrom City of Greater Bendigo, Regional Development Victoria and Parks Victoriawill all be based at the GovHub, as well as staff from the Department ofEnvironment, Land, Water and Planning, and the Department of EconomicDevelopment, Jobs, Transport and Resources.

Bringingthese agencies together under one roof will provide a one-stop-shop for peopleneeding state or local government services or advice.

Ina boost for local jobs, the Labor Government will also look to expand thenumber of Victorian public servants working from the new GovHub location.

Constructionof the new GovHub is expected to create more than 70 construction jobs when itstarts next year, and is due to be complete by late 2021.

TheBendigo GovHub is one of three GovHub projects currently being developed, withwork in Ballarat and Latrobe Valley also underway.
